Nestled in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains in the northwest corner of Connecticut, Marben Farm has assembled over the last sixteen years not only choice pedigrees, but also the finest conformation from the best available Belted Galloway genetics. We maintain production from 40-50 brood cows.

Back as early as 1985 we started making plans to produce a herd bull to carry Marben Farm into the next century. Through the selective breeding of an all-Canadian imported cow to a Scottish bull, our aggressive breeding program produced Marben's MacLean, the 1995 Grand Champion Male at the North American Belted Galloway Show in Louisville, KY. His first calves arrived in 1997, with his first full crop in 1998.

In order to continue producing the finest examples of the breed, Marben Farm pasture breeds animals, uses aggressive artificial insemination, and also maintains an embryo collection and implantation program.

We run three separate and distinct groups of breeding animals each year to produce spring calves. We also support this natural breeding with an artificial insemination program which provides us with the latest up-to-date infusion of the most modern genetics available. At Marben Farm our efforts are all directed toward improving the breed without losing the hardiness, beauty and true characteristics of this unique animal.
