Visitors are always welcomed at Klover Korners Farm. We're right off I-90 near the IL/WI border. Our farm is home to over 30 beautiful Belted Galloways. We had the World Beef Expo Grand Champion Bull in 1993, 1994 and 1995. We bred the Grand Champion Female in 1993 and 1994, and Reserve Female in 1995. Most of our cattle are 100% fullbloods. We've been featured in Country magazine, Countryside, Illinois Agri-News, Illinois Beef, Small Farm Today, Farm & Ranch, Farming, etc. We also bred the top three selling animals at the 1994 Deep South Sale. Our farm is located in western Illinois approximately 45 miles southwest of Peoria. Our Belted Galloway herd includes 8 cows, 3 heifers, and one bull. We have several calves that we are currently raising for future beef sales. We have beef for sale several times a year. Our animals are raised naturally: no growth hormones, steroids, or antibiotics. They graze our pasture and have hay in the winter. In order to get them to come in from the pasture so we can check on them, we give them a minimal amount of corn and natural minerals each evening. With a 42-year Angus background we bought our first Beltie in 2001. Our goal is to combine quality, carcass, and conformation to produce cattle that perform in the pasture and the show ring. We record weights, carcass data, tenderness scores, and feed an all-natural diet. Uphill Eleanor was 2007 Dam of the Year. Sunnybrook Elaine was 2007 Female of the Year. Our herd bull, Linetree’s Pistol Pete, consistently passes his bone, thickness, and style to his offspring earning him the 2007 and 2008 Sire of the Year and Gold Lifetime Awards. Currently the herd consists of approximately 40 striped Belties. Our herd consists of grade animals, appendix, and full blood registered animals. We are slowly working towards a pure bred herd. We sell finished steers for freezer beef, calves, and bred cows and heifers. We have bought a few registered animals each year to replace the grade cows and appendix animals we sell or butcher. The herd is mostly black and white striped Belties with a handful of dun cows.

Hunter’s Ridge raises black Belted Galloway cattle for freezer beef sales and also breeding stock. Freezer beef is sold by the quarter, half, or whole. The herd is small but growing, currently with 10 cows and heifers, and many calves expected soon. The cattle are raised naturally, on pasture in summer and quality hay in winter with alfalfa to supplement. They are hormone and antibiotic free. These “Oreo Cookie” cows attract a lot of attention with people often stopping to take pictures of the herd. Some of the cattle are quite sociable with visitors. We are working toward a goal of raising registered Belted Galloway Cattle. We currently have many crossbred cattle in our operation, but are slowly changing our numbers. We are located near Pelican Rapids in the heart of the lakes area in west central Minnesota. Our small herd is comprised of black registered Belted Galloways. Our current herd sire is Ruling Star from Malabar Farm in Iowa. Our cattle are pasture-raised with a small amount of grain supplement during the winter months. We started this venture in 2001 with two cows. We now have a herd of 10 cows and heifers and with the efforts of Ruling Star hope to continue to grow.
