Anderson Hill
Farm is located in the Green Mountains of central Vermont, where the rugged
terrain seems to suit the needs of Belted Galloway cattle. Established
in 1977 with a handful of domestic stock, they soon evolved into a serious
breeding farm stating ‘The acquisition and importation of a bull and 5
heifers from Scotland and England in 1988 was the beginning of our desire
to breed the best. Since then, we have purchased the breeding rights to
2 more bulls, who still reside there.’
We asked them about their goals as breeders of Belted Galloway cattle. They replied, ‘Our breeding practices are aimed at producing cattle we are proud of. To accomplish this, we visualize a carcass and work backwards from there. What does this carcass need? How can we achieve the results we desire? The answers vary, however with the consultation of Matt, from Purdue University, the advice from Vance, our show specialist, the experience of Mike, Terry, Josh and Bruce, the "hands-on" crew, along with the knowledge of Bob, and the drive and resources of the farm owner, Dick Anderson and his son, Cass, we have assembled a team that has one common goal, "The Quest for the Best."' |

E&H Joshua (AI) 10159B, sired by Aldermere Ajax out of E & H Julia (AI), bred and owned by Holly Hall of East Dixfield, ME. Joshua has won the hearts of many fellow breeders with his overall correctness, natural thickness throughout and his long stride as he moved across showrings throughout the Northeast and NAILE. Holly states, ‘He has a great disposition as well.’ |

Anderson Hill Weekend Gal

Anderson Hill Weekend Gal 22430D, is sired by Anderson Hill Unbridled II out of Anderson Hill Qui, bred and owned by Richard Anderson, West Rutland, VT. She is a broody, deep bodied heifer with a wonderful expansion of rib, and carrying herself proudly. Her show career includes Grand Champion Female at the Big E in 2005 and 2006, and Grand Champion Female at the NAILE 2006. She was also Grand Champion at the Big E 2006 BYG show. Weekend Gal has become one of those very special animals at Anderson Hill Farm, not only because of her professional accomplishments, but because she is as friendly and docile as any animal they have ever raised. They look forward to Weekend Gal’s future progeny. |

Anderson Hill Unbridled II
|
Anderson Hill Unbridled II 8505B, is sired by Bolebec Dun Concorde ( who resides in the British Isles) out of Anderson Hill Pistolette, bred and owned by Dick Anderson, VT. Unbridled II a Gold Lifetime Award winner, has multiple awards. Beginning in 2002, along with Pistolette, was Grand Champion Cow/ Calf at both the Big E and NAILE. In 2003, he was Grand Champion Bull at NAILE and in 2004, he was Grand Champion Bull at both Big E and NAILE. He also earned the title of Bull of the Year in 2004 and was entered into the Gold Lifetime Awards that same year. To date, Unbridled II has given Anderson Hill 35 calves, with birth weights averaging 76 lbs. for bulls and 67 lbs. for heifers. He has passed along his traits of correctness, body mass and muscling. The 2006 Grand Champion Bull at NAILE was Anderson Hill Bop Man, sired by Unbridled II. One final note—when ultra-sound results were in at the 2004 NAILE, Unbridled II topped the list with a measurement of 21.35 inch in ribeye area. |

E&H Julia (AI) 21870B, sired by DuRapide Legacy 17K (ET) (a Lullenden Bruno son out of a Moonshine daughter) out of E & H Millie (AI) (ET) is bred and owned by Holly Hall of East Dixfield, ME. Julia passes on her natural thickness to her 2 sons: E & H Joshua, 2006 Bull of the Year and her 2006 baby E & H Kramer. Joshua and Kramer combined forces to win Produce of Dam at the 2006 Eastern States Exposition. |
